Frequently Asked Questions

Q Can a solar panel be used with the DGX5.0?
A No

Q How far away should I set up my camera for the best quality pictures?
A We recommend about 15 to 20 feet.

Q My SD card will not accept images.
A SD card might be locked, make sure the white tab on the side of the SD card is positioned towards the end with the connectors.

Q What type of USB cord does my THX5.0 take and where can I find it?
A You will need a USB 2.0 A/B and it can be found at most any retail location that carries electronics.

Q All of my thumbnails are black or white.
A You can either right click on the image and refresh the thumbnail or just double left click and the full size image will appear.

Q How high should I mount the camera?
A Anywhere from waist high to an arms length above your head is a good rule of thumb.

Q What is the difference between LED and Incandescent flash?
A The LED flash is the infrared flash and the Incandescent flash is the regular strobe flash.

Q Why does my camera take photos every minute when the temperature reaches the mid 90’s?
A This can happen usually when the temps reach the mid 90’s and higher and there is a slight breeze. The PIR sensor sees the heat moving and triggers the camera to take a photo, it just senses heat it cannot tell the difference between person and a movement of 90 to 100 degree air. We are working on fine tuning the sensitivity of the sensor.

Q Why are my photos not in “full” color?
A We apply our IR filter directly to the lens; it is on the lens all the time.

Q Why is the SD card not reading in my digital camera?
A This is a format issue and can be remedied by going to our website and downloading the latest update for your camera.
